The panel of MPs, chaired by Lord Anderson, today released their report of an enquiry into the effects of extending weekend working and Sunday trading. The report, ‘Whose convenience?’ is strongly critical of the DTI’s current investigation of the potential impact of extending Sunday trading, and accuses it of making a ‘major error of judgement in seriously underestimating the social effects of extending Sunday trading hours.’ The full press release can be viewed here, and the report can be downloaded here.
