The real problem in Europe is how we’re connected.

Not just nations and the EU. Companies and investors. People and governments. Boards and employees. All of us and future generations.

 

These society-wide links are enormously powerful.

And often they’re set up in a way that encourages irresponsibility, disconnection, injustice, conflict and abuse. They contribute strongly to social unrest, austerity, and our inability to tackle climate change.

 

Here’s the term we need to start using:

RELATIONAL

That means we start our thinking about companies, economies and political systems, including the EU, in terms of the relationships that drive them and are impacted by them.
